Hello all -- A couple of quick comments on the EARCOS teacher's conference, use of the this site, and my departure from Asia.
EARCOS -- although I didn't attend the conference this year (officially) I did catch the last day as I was visiting a friend in Borneo. The location was spectacular, and the couple of environmentally related workshops I attended were quite inspirational. There was not much in the way of music, although I do believe one of our members presented on the importance of being…

Some of you may remember me from EARCOS last year, when I taught at Shanghai American School. I am now in Bolivia, at American Cooperative School, La Paz. Bolivia is beautiful and he job is great BUT with so much political turmoil this year the school has lost lots of students and I need to find a job for next year! I've taught Band, Choir, Orchestra, IB Music, World Music Drumming, General Music. If anybody knows of any music openings please email me at rgreenblatt@acslp.org
Thanks

Today I took the United Nations International School step team, ‘Dragonfly,’ to the New International School in Bangkok Thailand (NIST). While we were there we performed for over 1,000 students and gave student led workshops to grades 7 through 10. It was a smashing success! The UNIS students gave stellar performances, and the NIST students were a great audience -- and great workshop participants!
Stepping is a bit like South African gumboot dancing and came of age in American university sorori…

Although this year's conference did not include nearly as many music and movement workshops as last year's get together in Bangkok. The five days were still well worth it. The opportunity to meet music teachers from across the region is always welcome and it was nice to see a few familiar faces from last year. It became apparent from our job alike meeting that:
1. Almost no one had heard of the survey sent our by EARCOS regarding the possibility of starting some sort of adjudicated music festiv…
